Xudumela Conservancy
Situated in the South West region of the Okavango Delta along the Xudum river system, Xudumela Conservancy is a 3000 Ha (30 Sq Km) nature sanctuary only 45km’s from Maun yet in the heart of a pristine natural environment of key conservation importance.
The 20,000 Sq Km Okavango Delta is protected by what is known as the ‘Buffalo Fence’ and the fringing areas of the Okavango Delta bordering this veterinary boundary are of key importance to the conservation of this World Heritage Site. These ‘buffer zones’ are where increased levels of human-wildlife conflict occur which is a danger to people, their livestock and wildlife. Well managed, these areas can be re-wilded providing habitat expansion for the amazing biodiversity in the area as well as providing a safe zone for the people and their livestock with creation of employment and education for surrounding communities.
Xudumela Conservancy is a one hour drive from Maun or ten minutes by helicopter.
